Site looks great at 800x600. Subtle gradients and shadows, simple Arial font, custom scroll bars. Dense but not cluttered, good stuff.

Liking what I'm seeing so far. The layout does remind me of the old days of the internet.
I read your blog. We are our own worst critics. The thing about running a personal site is you can do whatever you want with it. If your site aim changes, that's fine too. Two months since you launched your site? You're still young and have plenty of time to figure out where you want to take your site. Don't worry too much about trying to impress other people. You'll never be happy if you get too hung up on things like that.
Sorry for getting a little preachy, but I look forward to seeing where you take your site next

hey! i read your blog post - i'm sorry you're feeling so isolated :< high school is really hard!!! i have a bunch of friends that didn't really have friends in high school, but found close friendships afterwards... im hoping you can do
i had a kinda similar mentality in high school, thinking i had no skills, no hobbies, etc.... and i guess the thing that took me ages to learn, is that there's no point at which it's "too late" to start learning something new
your site's great, it's sleek and minimalist in a satisfying way, you're very critical of yourself... i think everyone feels like their site sucks compared to all the crazy cool sites you can find on neocities
instead of changing your layout again, i'd moreso suggest just fleshing out your other pages. it's tempting to just redesign your site over and over until it's "perfect", but honestly, by just experimenting with new stuff, your skills will improve faster and you'll have more fun (at least that's true for me)
i hope you don't mind the unsolicited advice! i'm rooting for you!
